PRIDE. IN ADVERTISING.
There's no shortage of pride ads out there. Trouble is, 90% of them involve rainbowifying a logo, writing a pithy line and job done.
So Matt and Erin put their heads together and went looking for pride campaigns that went further, with either more insightful creative or more authentic, tangible ways of showing support.
Enjoy.
MasterCard
Acceptance Street
We like to put people in boxes. Problem is, not everyone fits into them. So because 'Gay Street' doesn't quite cover the range of identities within the LGBTQA community, MasterCard stepped in.
Vasttrafik
PROUD TIMETABLES
Okay, so this sort of fits into the 'throw a rainbow on it' camp. But the fact that their timetables were already colour coded based on tram lines then rearranged to rainbow makes it cool and relevant.
KLM
WORLDWIDE PRIDE FESTIVALS
We're a sucker for a visual metaphor. Especially when it relates smartly to the product or service. So props to KLM for this one.
Inter-LGBT
The obstacle course
We like the insight that for some, just being yourself feels like an obstacle course. From there, the craft brings it home. The first-person POV treatment, the storytelling, music, casting...we love it all. Pulls at the heart strings. Job done.
Proud FM
GAY, 3
These people wouldn't like our station. So if you're like them, don't listen. Which also communicates that if you're not like them, you'll probably dig our station. Nice. Tongue-in-cheek. And beautifully shot.
