WHAT'S ON FOR PSYCHOS?

Ever find yourself watching a psychopath at play and wonder what it feels like to tidy someone up without a care in the world? Don’t worry, the fact that you ask the question tells us you have some empathy. So it’s very unlikely you’re a psycho too. But it’s still fun to wonder, right?

With that in mind, here’s a string of shows our team’s gotten into lately. Nothing like a little murder and mayhem for an evening of escapism.

NURSE RATCHET

So many psychopaths in one little show. If you haven’t already caught this on Netflix, it’s definitely worth a watch. It’s the origin story of the famous character from One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. Early on she seems almost painfully nice. Suffice to say, that doesn’t really last. But it’s a well acted story, well told, that leaves you wanting more.

WHERE? NETFLIX WHY? THE LOBOTOMIES

CLICKBAIT

Whatever happened to the hot guy from Entourage? Turns out he settled down and started a family. So far, so boring. Then he showed up in an online video outing him as an asshole. So far, still boring. But once that video gets 5 million hits, Entourage guy will die. Now we’re talking. Averagely acted twisty-turny, did-he-didn’t-he thriller. It definitely passes the time.

WHERE? NETFLIX WHY? THE ENTOURAGE GUY

NINE PERFECT STRANGERS

If you need another reason to shell out for Prime, this isn’t it. But it’s definitely something to watch if you’ve got it. Bunch of people at a wellness retreat. All is not well. Nicole Kidman is brilliantly cast as a re-born hippy with a predilection for ‘alternative’ treatments. The cast is great. The story ticks along – and finally, the perfect role for Kidman’s inflexible face.

WE HUNT TOGETHER

Sometimes you stick around for the story. Other times, it’s for the characters. And this cops and murderers, cat and mouse show is definitely the latter. But it’s fun to follow along as Freddie and Baba Bonny-and-Clyde their way across the English countryside while Lola and Jackson bumble along behind. Is she really a psychopath? You’ll have to watch it to see.

WHERE? NEON WHY? THE BUTTER WOULDN’T MELT

END OF THE F***ING WORLD

This is one of the sweetest girl meets boy love stories you’ll ever hope to find. And then there’s the murdering. To be fair, he asked for it. So he got it. It’s a quirky, beautifully directed story about the rights and wrongs of doing whatever the hell you like. Spoiler alert: the rights and wrongs are mostly self-evident.

WHERE? NETFLIX WHY? ALL THAT BLOOD

AND MORE…

That’s just the start. Don’t forget the old faithful Psychos, like Paulie from The Sopranos (Neon) an almost helpful Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal (Netflix) the not-really-loveable billionaires of Succession (Neon) and everyone’s favourite assassin, anti-hero of Killing Eve.

That’s it from us on psychopaths. But watch out for more of the shows we’re switching on to switch off - coming soon.
