Winning shiny prizes.
We’re super-proud to announce that last night Hunch picked up our first-ever prizes at the NZDM Awards. Our ‘Wrong Delivery’ campaign created to amplify the partnership between MS Auckland and Hell Pizza was awarded Silver in the not-for-profit category and Gold for B2B Direct Marketing. We were also nominated for Best in Show. It’s awesome.
‘Picked up’ obviously goes nowhere to describe the blood, sweat, tears, late nights and awkward JCR conversations that go hand-in-hand with a project like this. It’s a massive understatement for the passion and pride that go into creating one of the top ten campaigns of the year.
The passion is real.
As well as celebrating the achievements of the industry’s best, award nights are an opportunity to raise profile for some of the the charities who work so hard to improve the lives of Kiwis. MS is a very personal connection for us so we’re stoked to be able to use our time to make our little contribution to the cause. If you’d like to join us, you can do that here. It’s also a chance to acknowledge the significant investment corporate friends make in charity partnerships. So if you’d like to tip a hat to Jason Buckley and his team at Hell – you can get Saturday’s dinner sorted here.
Standing head to head with heroes.
Among the many magic moments of last night, one of our newest recruits asked “who are all these other agencies we’re up against?” My answer reminded me just how amazing (and how small) our our industry is:
“That’s Chemistry Interaction, they were set up by my old boss a couple of years ago and they won two Golds tonight. That’s Proximity, their CD is my old boss Wayne who’s one of the most-awarded creatives in the world. And those guys are JustOne. They were set up by another old boss of mine who is inspirational in forging a pathway for independent agencies like ours. Obviously he now has enough cash to bribe the judges.”
That’s them. And we’re hunch. Young, hungry and up on the stage with the very best in the business. Thanks Therese. Thanks Jason. Congratulations to Matt, Nat and Kat who proved that rhyming names make all the difference as they created, managed and delivered the campaign. Big moment for us. Worthy of a skite.
